NLP (Neuro Linguistic Progamming) is a process by which you change the way that you think and in doing so change the way that you act.
From the time we are born our brain – the sub-conscious part of it – begins to take care of our every day things so that our conscious mind can do other things. It starts with breathing, we then learn to move our arms and legs, to feed ourselves, to stand on our own two feet, to talk, to walk, to run, to laugh when we are happy to cry when we are sad. All of these things and many more our brain will do without our conscious mind thinking about them – our sub-conscious takes care of it.
Similarly, when something frightens us, hurts us, makes us sick, is too hot, is too cold or is something out of our daily routine, the sub-conscious learns how we react to these situations so that our conscious mind does not have too. Some of the fears are good to have touching a red hot saucepan would burn us and cause us imense pain – so when our sub-conscious tells us not to do that; it is best we do not touch the hot saucepan.
However, the sub-conscious also learns how we react when faced with an irrational fear, this could be something that happened to frighten us when we were very young. Each time the fear comes back our sub-conscious reacts to it as we did before; each time it happens we think less and less about it as our sub-conscious takes over creating a behaviour pattern.
Phobias are just people stuck in bad behaviour patterns and by using NLP the Practioner recognises the patterns and changes them so that the person with them can be freed to live a better life.
